Dust storm in Palisade at the new Solar Array build.

The residents around this new build were forced to live with the dust produced by the building contractors, complaints to the County Commissioners initially went unheard and the responsibility was then pushed off onto the bureaucrats that did nothing to help the situation. https://www.facebook.com/reel/2125397354851232

The newly formed group to oppose this solar farm have since met with the County Commissioners and they have rescheduled a hearing for the solar farm. We suggest attending this meeting, we all need to show support for homeowners subjected to this kind of abuse.

The Mesa County Planning Commission will vote on the Land Development Code updates and Community Neighborhood Plan Revocation. The date has been changed to Oct 15th 6PM, from Sept 17th. This meeting will be at 544 Rood Ave, Grand Junction, CO 81501.

Here is a link to the county website with the proposed code updates.

The Public Hearing where the County Commissioners will vote to accept or deny the updates is scheduled November 17th, 2026 at 1:30 Pm same location. Stay tuned for more updates will follow as the event gets nearer.

If you can't make it send an email to the county commissioners and planning department to let them know your thoughts on the proposed changes or other changes you would like.

Senior Center being closed by the City Council of Grand Junction

The long paying, over taxed citizens who spent their lives paying taxes, are being shuffled off to anywhere else. The City Council has decided they need to trim 2 million dollars from the budget, this means 13 jobs will be lost also. Now, lets take a moment and reflect on some of the stupid decision made by these very same ingrates. Spend millions of tax money to fund the Avalon theater, spend several million to protect the non existent bikers on 4th and 5th ave, purchase property that sits vacant and unused, the Bonsai Pipeline now defunct, Crossroad Orchards SOLD, the history museum gone. None of these things have done well, lasted long or been successful, yet we the citizens of Mesa County fund each and every boondoggle they come up with. If nothing else, they need to stop spending foolishly and take care of the very people that have paid for the small luxuries we all need and share. To kick out the seniors from an already paid for building filed with expensive items they paid for, is foolish, uncaring and certainly unneeded. Keep the Senior Center open! Make you cuts where they are most effective and stop short changing the very people who fund your foolish adventures into liberalism. The Mayor of Aurora has said, they will NOT layoff people, they will make the shortfalls work themselves out. Our mayor, our council, = SHUT IT DOWN, LAY EM OFF!

Water, something we can’t live without.

The drought we are facing is severe, it will lead to many complications, especially downstream. Millions of people depend on the water from Colorado. The problems we will all face are to be discussed in Montrose.

Join Montrose County for our annual West Slope Water Summit on Nov. 13th from 7:30am to 2:00pm at the Montrose County Event Center (1036 North 7th Street). Doors open at 7:00 am. The West Slope Water Summit is free and includes breakfast and lunch.

Registration is required. You can register at:

Palisade in Critical Care

Apparently things are even worse in Palisade, the town is closing the Veterans Center, seems they too are having budget problems and can only think of how they can put it to the taxpayers, seniors and vets. The spend millions repairing the main inter-fare through town, have been for months and months. But, all those traffic cones, barrels and barriers belonged to someone with connections, now they are used like popcorn to string into decorations. How much did those cost the taxpayer? Not only have they disrupted the traffic for over a year, they also don’t pay attention to repair work being done under the streets either. Sewer problems for the neighborhoods, obnoxious comments from city officials and recall efforts are underway. Solar farms seem to bother only the residents who put up with the blowing dirt and officials sit and wonder what the hubbub is all about.

Life is good on the western slope.

Just imagine living in Denver or suburbs and putting up with all that progressivism brings. All the homeless, drugs, vandalism, crime, and taxes with no end in sight. Politicians with no morals, Plus a AG that want more power even though he releases more crime on the streets than can be tolerated by honest folks. Yes, life is good here!

State Insights

State Intent & Broader Context

Colorado’s budget problems

It seems the elected officials are wondering why the budget never gets larger yet the problems get bigger. With the reckless behavior of caring for the invaders seems like a small problem, it is a financial drain to all of us taxpayers. Yet, larger problems are never faced with a focus on solving them. They want more money, that’s their solution, get rid of TABOR, that’s the goal.

Crime is at an all time high in Colorado

The statistics tell the story on how our justice system works. Colorado was ranked 8th in our Nation in violent crimes, 3rd in property crimes and yet not all crimes are reported, nor criminals prosecuted, they are given bail without question and released to recommit more crime. BUT, our Attorney General wants to be our Governor. Based on his behavior, maybe he should be in jail.

NATIONAL INSIGHTS

Constitutional Intent & Broader Context

Is our Country at war?

In terms of cost, 140 billion is only money, the real loss for America is the dead and wounded. So far 19 Americans have died, scores more have been injured, impossible to know the life damage in Iran. But, is this fighting worth the risks, the cost? Iran has been a bloodthirsty nation since even before it became a nation. They are responsible for most of the horrible terrorist attacks around the world. Have no doubt that if allowed to have nuclear weapons, that they would use them, without a second thought. Many are against this fighting. I wonder if they have given any thought to the cost of a nuke hitting a city carried by a missile from Iran.

Midterms are being contested NOW!

The course of our Nation is going to be the winner or loser as a result of this election. Recall Trump’s first term. He had a republican Senate and House, yet he failed to get Congress’s approval to pass sweeping legislation that was desperately needed, and then the midterms happened and both houses were turned blue. He became a lame duck President, nothing else made it through Congress to change our desperate situation. We are at that crossroad once again.

https://www.aspistrategist.org.au/a-lame-duck-yes-but-trump-is-still-the-focus-as-us-heads-to-midterms/

It’s imperative that we all VOTE! Our Nation needs everyone to voice their opinion or our ship will be rudderless and without the ability to correct our course. Talk to your neighbors, your friends, your family, convince them to VOTE!
